What a thrill...

What a thrill it was for me to visit all 200 of the 2nd and 3rd grade students at Reche Canyon Elem. last Thursday. We had a fun time at our assembly program Imagination/Creation. The students were very attentive and asked great questions too. Everyone received their own copy of my coloring book version of "The Magical Journey" compliments of the PTA!! For those students who purchased a copy of my book I was happy to stick around and personally autograph each one!!   Reche Canyon PTA, you rock!!!!  I will be honored to return to Reche Canyon Elem. next Thursday when the winners of my coloring book writing contest will be presented with my writer's gift baskets! I wish all the students happy writing and good luck!!!!

Highland Festival Winner

I am pleased to announce the winner of the Writer's Gift Basket drawing held last Saturday at the Highland Harvest Festival in Highland, Ca. Congratulations to Christopher, from Highland, Ca. If you have not yet seen the gift basket I make and give away frequently, it is actually a gift box filled with all the tools a young writer would need to begin creating their own books. It also features an autographed copy of my published book  "The Magical Journey". I also include stickers made from the illustrations in my book as well as a custom book mark. Finally the baskets are wrapped in the colors of my book yellows, greens and purples. So far I have given away many and they have been a hit with the children (fans of "Max") Look here regularly for my post of more up coming special events and gift basket give aways! 4th Grade Career Day

It was an honor for me to be invited to Smiley Elem. School today to the 4th Grade class room for Career Day.  I enjoyed speaking to the students about my journey to becoming a published author. The students asked intelligent and interesting questions and I enjoyed answering each one of them. We had a fun time with a drawing I conducted for a big, bright gift basket that contained everything a young writer would need to create their very own book! Congratulations to our winner Lexis!!!!!!!!!! Each student received a gift bag to take home full of stickers, book marks and candy as my personal thank you for inviting me to their class room. Thanks guys! I had a great time visiting with you at Smiley Elem.

Class room visit with 20 1st grade students

What a rewarding and fun experience to visit with 20 first grade students. We talked about reading and writing stories. There was one little boy, David who introduced himself as an author because he writes his very own little books everyday. He insisted I read two of them right then. They were very cute, small square pieces of paper stapled together just like a book. He was so proud. I was so honored that he wanted to share. We made crafts related to my book and Every Child received a Free copy of my book as our gift. They were so excited and we took a great photo of all the children with their books. It was a great moment for all of us! As you may know, it is my dream to give 10,000 children FREE books so if you know of any business owners who would be willing to sponsor this quest please email me with their information so we don't waste anymore time!! The children are out there waiting for their class room visit and their Free books!! Lets get 10,000 more children excited to create their own stories just like David!!   Together we can encourage reading and maybe meet the authors of tomorrow!!! First Book Signing Party highlights

Diana's first book signing / book release party was a huge success! Friends, family, co-workers and the public attended. A fun time was had by all!! Highlights from attendees were meeting the Author and Illustrator, and having their photo taken with them as well as getting their autographs!! The children loved the craft table where they created their own coloring book version of Diana's new release "The Magical Journey". They also created their very own magic stone necklace as a souvenir of the evening. Also there were colorful custom made bookmarkers and stickers handed out to every child.  Everyone sampled the scrumptious refreshments and gathered around the unique Magical Journey cake that featured the star of the book "Max" the friendly dragon! Almost too cute to eat? The Imagination-Creation Program Diana developed was met with great enthusiasm and support!! The information table was busy with teachers and parents signing their children's classroom up for a visit from the Author, as well as local business owners picking up information packets regarding sponsoring this amazing reading and writing program Diana developed for Elementary students!!   Look for coverage of this special event in the Redlands Daily Facts, The San Bernardino Sun and The Highland Community News. School Program

Diana has developed a school program for students in the first through third grade. It is entitled, Imagination-Creation. Diana will be visiting classrooms throughout the Inland Empire speaking with children about creating characters and stories of their own. There will be several surprises for the students!!!
